Jacob & Ava

Meet Jacob and Ava, two beautiful kids that was SO good to me. I love their smiles. I love their age. I love how well-behaved they were. I loved how they listened to what I asked them to do. I loved how they laughed at my silliness. I just loved every minute I was there.

Jacob had the coolest boy room you can imagine. Star Wars and Superman decals on the walls. And a car bed any kid would die for. And even a beautiful drawing table in their room to encourage creativity. These siblings were so good to each other. I mean, just look at the way Ava glanced into his brother's eyes when she held his hand. This shot is my favorite from the whole session.

{ Amy & George - Thank you for sharing your beautiful kids with me. }

Baby Sebastien ... continues...

It's been a crazy few months with the holidays and I am just catching up with shoots that I did back in October and November. (Yeh I know... this needs to improve, I know). I can't believe we are only a few days away from the New Year... its' been an amazing and completely crazy year.
I have so many new year resolution on my mind that I would like to start to keep and improve ... and one of my top 10 one is this blog...

I wanted to share a couple more from one of my favorite newborn sessions from this year...

The Jason Lee Family

It was an honor to photograph such a talented photographer, Jason Lee and his wonderful family. A few months back, he photographed my family and we had a fabulous time hanging out.

Of course, it was also a bit nerve wrecking as well, the thought of having to shoot for another photographer?! (oh my, the pressure!) Well, luckily, these adorable little girls and their contagious giggles made things easier. At the same time, I already knew these little girls would be very comfortable in front of the camera because their Daddy takes creative shots of them flying through the air almost every week.

So we started the shoot at their house, their Mama thought it would be fun to do some baking pics. So the girls made rainbow cupcakes together and I got to shoot and eat 'em and even took some home to my boys too. That's how these girls paid me for this photo shoot.

Then we ventured out, we hit Las Trampas, a place where many hikers like to go. We found a nice open area with cows and beautiful green grass so we started our shoot there.

It was definitely a memorable shoot for all of us...here are some highlights: Kayla won't stop asking for lip gloss, my name is "Uncle Jenny" according to these girls, we saw cows and lots of cow poop everywhere, even ones with odd patterns on them which made us all very puzzled, we left with very muddy shoes.... and last of all, we accidently ran over a furry friend named Squirrel. Bump. I hope you didn't have any squirrel nightmares that night poor Selina. And RIP little furry friend.

Thank you so much for giving me the chance to hang out with your wonderful family Jason. Hope you like your sneak peeks...

Gift Certificates: A Gift of Memories:

I love Christmas. I love wearing long boots and coats. I love wrapping papers, and bows and holiday cards. And I love seeing how happy everyone gets when they open their gifts. I love buying presents for my love ones... but I don't love not knowing what to get...every year.

I struggle to find that perfect gift for my love ones. And eventually I feel as if I am completely out of ideas. I am sure many of you can relate. Besides giving your sister-in-law another cute handbag or your best friend another warm cashmere scarf, why not give them something they can cherish and remember for life?

Give a gift of memories this holiday.

A gift certificate from Jenny Lee Photography. It's not a gift you can hold in your hand, or throw away, nor can it be purchased from the store and then get returned. It's a gift of an experience they will always remember.

Rather than another scarf or another set of earrings this holiday, purchase a gift certificate from our studio instead. We also offer e-gift certificates as well, for the quickest delivery..

Please contact our studio, Jenny Lee Photography to purchase your gift certificate today.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Our photos on Ohdeedoh

A friend of mine recently found one of my son's party favor item featured on the popular kids blog site 'Ohdeedoh'. It was from Aidan's 3rd Birthday years ago, I made little thank you labels and glued it onto boxes of sidewalk chalk as party favors for my guest to take home. I had no idea it would be such a big hit, but glad everyone liked it and wanted to take one home, even those without kids. The theme for the party that year was Crayola and I thought sidewalk chalks would fit in just perfect. It was easy to assemble, I only had to design a big label and glued it onto the box of sidewalk chalk. This image below was found by Ohdeedoh on Flickr, photo courtesy of my good friend and also a very talented toy designer, June Shieh.

What is even more fun is that today, Ohdeedoh also featured my Aidan's Star Wars theme birthday party images on their blog too. All that effort put into his little party was all well worth it when I saw that priceless smile on his face when he saw life size Darth Vader come out with his cake. You can see the blog post on their site here: My Party: Aidan (San Francisco, CA)

It's always so exciting when I see my images featured on other fun, design inspired kids sites. If you've never heard of Ohdeedoh, it has great design inspirations for kids stuff, it is part of Apartment Therapy, a site that I LOVE looking through for color inspirations and neat ideas for my home, kids rooms, color combinations, and more. I highly suggest bookmarking this site.

Thank you Ohdeedoh, I've always been a BIG fan of your site, now I love it even more.

Shop Holiday Cards: Jenny Lee Photography + Tiny Prints

It's November already, can you believe it? The holidays are just around the corner and this is the best time to start thinking about your holiday cards before the crazy holiday rush begins.

You might already know that our studio have been offering our very unique, one-of-a-kind press printed cards to our clients for the past few years and its been a great success. It also took quite some time to design as each of them were designed and personalized to our unique clients. There was no two cards alike and that was the beauty about these cards. I am grateful for all the clients that have chose to have my unique designs over any other great sites out there. We are still offering these kinds of cards for those who prefer the uniqueness of their birth announcements or holiday cards.

Well, you might have guessed, designing the unique cards took alot of time to create, and less time to shoot. I never had enough time to create the different template options to offer for my clients, although it was always on my to-do list among many others. Well, I've found the perfect solution and I'm SO excited to share the news.

Halloween 2010

Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween this year.

Our Halloween was a blast. My boys dressed up as Harry Potter and well, so did I. I tried, although I've only watched Harry Potter once and I've completely forgotten how it was in the movie. I managed to find an outfit out of my closet somehow. Okay, next year I'll try harder.

Every year I try my best to match what the boys' theme costumes are. Last year, both the boys were Darth Vader, so I was Princess Leia. The year before that in 2008, they were both Buzz Lightyears so I was Jessie the Cowgirl. The cousins comes over to trick or treat in our neighborhood, its almost a tradition of ours now. Year after year, we would put all 4 of the boys together for a costume photo. Looking back at them, its so much fun!

I love dressing up with my boys. And I plan to continue to do this until they are embarrassed of me copying them someday.

At this time, we have some special news to share. As you might have already noticed, our studio have been offering unique one-of-a-kind custom birth announcements and holiday cards for the past few years. Many of these clients raved about their cards and so did all their friends and family. We can't be any happier to hear that.

At the same time, I also had many clients who have also request for the option to just choose from a few different templates... which I never had time to create yet. Well, that project of 'designing new templates for our studio' has been on my mind for the past year but I just haven't had the time to execute that great idea yet. Well, I've found a great idea which marries the two.

Baby Sebastien { Day 6 }

I didn't even get a chance to post this beautiful belly that I photographed some weeks back. Well, guess what? I already went back to photograph the newborn already so I am just going to have to post both of the sessions in this one post now.

Meet our brand new mommy and her beautiful belly, Priscille.

She was 35 weeks pregnant and had a very nice round belly. They had such a gorgeous living room which I loved. The living room was ready for a photo shoot... the white couch, orange and green accents, wooden bowl, textured rug. And of course, the nursery was utterly cute too. This mama sure have great taste in her colors and furnitures. I loved the style.

Now, meet their new little guy, he is only 6 days young when we met. His name is Sebastien. I remember when his mommy was still pregnant, she told me she named her baby SMS. "SMS?" I said. Yes, that's his initials... is that just too cute and 2010 or what? Sebastien Martin is his name. I see a rockstar in the future with that name. This special name, Sebastien was also on my boy list of names to choose from when I was pregnant with my 1st baby boy :) I still love this name very much till this day.

{ Priscille & Dennis - Thank you so much for having me back again... it was such a pleasure to photograph your fresh little boy in his first week of life. You have a beautiful and cute little family, congrats again. It was a pleasure to meet Dennis' parents too, I loved how your dad was both eager and relieved to know that I can speak chinese too when he met me :P It was just too cute }

** Leave 20+ comments left for this cute family, I will send baby Sebastien a little gift from our studio.

Mini Me.

I take pictures of him almost everyday. Yes, I really do.

I encourage you all out there with kids to do the same too. It's just way too convenient to capture life with modern technology. My new iPhone takes great HD photos and I can't be more happy. I love technology, I love Apple and I love the iPhone, all the apps out there are endless ways you can be creative. Here's one of my favorite used here again, the Shake-It-Photo app. I love the polaroid border. Love, love, love.

Now, everyone's been telling me my little one looks JUST like me... is that true? Well, it must be the hat and glasses I think.

Here is fun capture of my Mini Me roaming around my work station from this afternoon.

Oh, I love his cheeky smile.

Baby Aiden { 7 months } + Big sister Mia

Remember this beautiful family from this shoot and that shoot? I was so happy to be back again to photograph their little Aiden at 7 months.

Just look at Aiden's big round eyes and long lashes, those have got to be the prettiest eyes I've seen on a baby boy. How can anyone NOT fall in love with this little guy? He was so so cute, I almost wanted to steal him into my camera bag with me but I think his parents might notice.

I still remember the last time I was there, he was only 7 days young, he was so good to me at his newborn shoot, he barely made a peep. This time, he is already 7 months old. It is such an honor that I get to watch these babies grow from a newborn size to a little peanut chunk.

Aiden's big sister Mia still remembers me and was so talkative this time around. She didn't even need time to warm up to me this time. I remember my 1st visit, she was an observer, clinged onto her daddy's neck. She was quiet and didn't want much to do with me when I arrived. I am so glad that she warmed up to me so quickly this time. And I was so happy she remembered who I was too. It must've been my lucky day.

{ Catherine & Joe - Thank you again for welcoming me into your beautiful home in San Francisco. You guys have such beautiful kids, you must need to put bars on your front door when Mia turns 18. }

Baby Zoraya { 7.5 months }

Say hello to Zoraya. She just learned how to sit up just days before our photo shoot. She is 7.5 months old and already has her ears pierced. Isn't that just adorable?

Zoraya's mommy told me she had her ears pierced when she was really young too, just around Zoraya's age now. I love hearing about these kinds of family traditions that gets passed down generations after generations. Do you have a family tradition? I'd love to know yours.

{ Thank you baby Zoraya for being so good to me during our photo shoot. Andy & Afsaneh, It's a pleasure working with you guys again, I can't wait to show you the rest of the pics }

* Leave 20+ comments for Zoraya and we'll send her a sweet gift*
